1. About these terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Microbes Decoded online store at https://ucjj41-cv.myshopify.com (the "Store") and any purchase you make from it. The Store is operated by Dr. Mahnoor Ayoub, trading as Microbes Decoded ("Microbes Decoded", "we", "us", "our").

By using the Store or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, our Cancellation, Returns and Refund Policy, our Shipping Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Store.

3. Eligibility

To place an order, you must be at least 18 years old, or use the Store with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and be able to enter into a binding contract under Indian law.

4. Products and educational content

Our books and other resources are created for education and exam preparation. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, or for clinical guidelines and the instructions of your institution. We take care to keep our content accurate, but medical knowledge changes, and we cannot guarantee that every item of content is complete or current.

Product images are for illustration. Colours, finishes and packaging may differ slightly from what you see on screen.

5. Prices and payment

All prices are shown in Indian rupees (INR). Applicable taxes are shown at checkout before you pay. Shipping within India is free. We may change prices at any time, but the price that applies to your order is the one shown when you complete checkout.

Payment is taken in full at checkout through the payment methods offered there. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store your full card details.

6. Orders

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we confirm it by email. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if a product is unavailable, if there is an error in the price or description, or if we reasonably suspect fraud. If we cancel an order you have paid for, we will refund the full amount to your original payment method.

7. Cancellations

You may cancel any order, including a pre-order, before it is dispatched, and we will refund the full amount you paid to your original payment method. To cancel, contact us with your order number through our Contact page, by email at support@microbsdecoded.shop or by phone on +91 6005736612. Orders are expected to be dispatched within 2 days after they are placed, so please contact us as soon as possible.

After an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled for a change of mind. This does not affect your rights described in section 10.

8. Pre-orders

Some products may be offered on pre-order. Pre-orders are paid in full at checkout and are expected to be dispatched within 2 days after the order is placed. This is an estimate, not a fixed release date. You may cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it is dispatched.

9. Shipping and delivery

We deliver within India, free of charge, using DHL. Orders are expected to be dispatched within 2 days after they are placed, and delivery is expected approximately 3 days after dispatch. These times are estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates. See our Shipping Policy for details.

10. Returns, faulty items and refunds

After dispatch, we do not accept cancellations, returns or exchanges because you have changed your mind. If an item arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, if something is missing, or if your order is not delivered, we will provide a replacement or a refund as set out in our Cancellation, Returns and Refund Policy. Refunds are made to the original payment method.

11. Ownership of products and content

Your purchase. When you buy a physical product, such as a printed book, sticker or brooch, ownership of that item passes to you once it has been delivered and paid for in full.

Intellectual property. The content of our books and resources, the illustrations, the Microbes Decoded name and logo, and other content on the Store are owned by Dr. Mahnoor Ayoub or her licensors and are protected by law. Buying a product does not give you any rights in that content. You may not copy, scan, photograph, reproduce, distribute, sell, share or adapt our books or content, in print or digitally, except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

12. Using the Store

You agree not to misuse the Store, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, interfering with its operation, submitting false information or using it for any unlawful purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from your use of the Store or our products. Our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

14. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the Store when you place an order applies to that order.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to your right to approach the consumer commissions under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the courts at Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Store.

As required by the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, the grievance officer will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours of receiving it and resolve it within one month of receipt.
